2023 Tournament

The Arizona Tennis Classic is excited to announce the return of men’s professional tennis to the Phoenix area, March 13 - March 19, 2023. This year’s edition is an ATP Premium Challenger, part of the ATP Tour’s elite “Challenger 175” category. This newly created classification boasts only a handful of events worldwide and the Arizona Tennis Classic will stand alone as the only one in the United States. Total prize money will increase over 35% to a Challenger record $220,000. As in previous editions, this year’s event will be held at the historic Phoenix Country Club and will showcase a number of today’s players ranked in the world’s top 50 along with some of the brightest young talent in the sport. Previous competitors at the Arizona Tennis Classic have included our 2019 champion Matteo Berrettini, who was a finalist at Wimbledon in 2021 and is currently ranked #16 in the world, and Casper Ruud, who was a finalist at both the 2022 US Open & French Open and is currently ranked #3 in the world. Last year’s event saw a strong field of competitors including US sensation and 66th ranked JJ Wolf, top 50 player and Southern California’s own Brandon Nakashima, former top ten players David Goffin of Belgium and Gilles Simon from France, and one of the tour’s hottest young stars, Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who is currently number 23 in the world. We are thrilled to bring this high-level sporting event back to Arizona and are confident that local sporting fans will be treated to a week of top-notch competition and entertainment. Proceeds from the event will benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Serve the Future (which assists youth from underserved local communities through the sport of tennis) making this not only a fantastic sporting event, but also a chance to make a positive impact on our Phoenix community. With a strong field of international competitors and a first class venue, the Arizona Tennis Classic will continue to be the highlight of the tennis calendar here in the Valley of the Sun.
